Online Prices Merging Say Encircle
According to figures supplied to the tyre trade magazine Tyre Trade News by research company Encircle Marketing the average price points of leading online retailers have been merging over the past few months.
According to Encircle, who monitor 13 popular retail sites across 23 popular sizes the average price spread between the cheapest and the most expensive retailer was £15 back in August this year with Netatyre coming in cheapest at an average price of £70.01. By October the price span had reduced to just over £11 with prices having increased substantially, Blackcircle coming in cheapest at £75.56.
Encircle reported that the pure internet sites (i.e. those not associated with tyre depots of their own) increased the most in price over the period.
The figures go to illustrate how volatile tyre pricing is and why it is always makes sense to check prices on a price compsrison site like Tyre Price Advisor. What was the cheapest 3 months ago may no longer be the cheapest price today.
